Reviews
A converted 19th century warehouse is the home of Vialetto Ristorante, one of the more
elegant contenders on Hardware Lane. Past the scattering tables on the street, diners
descend to a cavernous split level dinning room. Despite the high midday turnover, we
didn't feel rushed. Our entrees of tomato and bocconcini salad and an antipasto selection,
and a main of avocado fettuccine, were all satisfactory. It is in the dessert department that
Vialetto shines, with seven interesting offerings. We tried the panna cotta flavoured with
Napoleon Mandarin liqueur and the chocolate and fig pudding with Dutch chocolate and crème
de cacao sauce - both delectable. An interesting wine list has all options by the glass.

Well patronised by the legal set, this subterranean Italian restaurant located near the courts
precinct is a great place to meet friends over lunch. Sunlight streaming through glass panels
in good weather enhances the relaxed atmosphere, and you can eat alfresco and
people-watch if you wish.

As the sun begins to set on our fair city don't think for a second it's time to head indoors.
Vialetto Ristorante on Hardware Lane offers four very good reasons to stay outside. Here,
the cuisine has an accent on Italian. The menu is affordable, with mains averaging around
$16.50. If the weather's a little cooler, don't despair as the huge gas heaters and cosy
atmosphere inside leave you warm to the core.
